You’ve noticed lately that you and your partner are like two ships passing in the night. Working different schedules, taking care of the kids, balancing your busy lives, and trying to figuring out your relationship along the way has worked for y’all…kinda. You’re getting through life but the way you’re doing it is at a cost to your relationship. You’re both feeling helpless, disconnected, worried, and completely lonely. You can press the pause button, and reset. You need someone who cares deeply about your well-being as individuals and a couple and will help you look at the realities of your situation to formulate a realistic plan to reconnect and reprioritize your relationship. Soon enough you will feel excited and grateful to do life with your partner again. I’d be honored to walk through this with you.

My Philosophy

Hi, I’m Jennifer, a couples and individual therapist in League City, Texas.  I love getting to know my clients by understanding exactly where they are when we first meet. You don’t have to worry about being a mess or feeling like you’re too anxious, righteous, or needy. I’ll accept you just as you are, and together we’re going to focus on figuring out what works and doesn’t work in your life so you can get unstuck and find your way forward. I’ll be with you every step of the way.

I help couples rediscover their strengths and connection to reset, recommit, heal, and develop realistic ways to build a fulfilling marriage they can actually engage in and enjoy.

I believe that who you are today is influenced by the past, some of which you could control and some of which you couldn’t. What this means is that everyone is different and complex. There’s nothing like bringing two distinct people together who’ve been through some stuff and then expecting them to live a problem free life! We put unrealistic expectations upon our marriages, so I like to slow things down and look at which tools and techniques are going to work for each of you as individuals, and for the two of you as a couple. I prefer to use a holistic approach that examines your biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to the issues you’re struggling with, but are also the keys to finding the solutions that will bring you the satisfaction in your marriage you’ve always wanted.

My Approach

I am passionate about working with clients who want practical solutions, are willing to evaluate themselves and look at the various factors that have gotten them here, and are ready to make real changes in their lives. I’ll sit with you and help you process your feelings, they’re all valid and helpful in some way or another because we need to experience them and express them to move forward. Part of my job is to make space for those feelings and also challenge you to look at your own thoughts, behaviors, and feelings to see if they’re serving you, and if not providing you with better tools and coping skills. We’re going to take a look at the big picture as well, focusing on your personal strengths, your strengths as a couple, growing your support system, and developing a process of moving through life feeling confident you can tackle anything. My optimistic style will keep you motivated and accountable as we’re making sense out of all these pieces and putting together an executable plan.
