You’ve pushed and pushed so hard to be the best version of yourself you can be, and now you’re freaking tired. You’re overworked, irritable, snapping at people, and confused about what direction to go next. You’re not sure how to find your way, stop questioning every decision, and feel like yourself again. You need a therapist who is straight forward and down to earth, but who will push you to figure your stuff out. You don’t want just any therapist who will nod their head and agree with you, you want someone who will get to know who you really are, calls you out, and knows what they’re doing. Let’s take a minute to explore how I work and if I’m the right person to help you.

My Philosophy

Hi, I’m Jaimi, couples and individual threrapist in League City, Texas. I love to show up for clients as my authentic self, and I ask them to do the same. I accept people just the way they are, and I’ll meet you wherever you are each time you come to session. Although I’ll challenge you to see things from new perspectives and provide coping skills to help you change your unhealthy patterns, I’ll never judge you.

I help people understand what it means to take care of themselves so they can fulfill their purpose and have meaningful relationships.

I know that you’ve been trying your best to live a good life, but you’ve worn yourself out. Clients come to see me when they find themselves irritable, anxious, overwhelmed, and exhausted. I provide a space for you to explore how you ended up there, where you actually want to be, and then I’ll help you get to a place where you can achieve all your big life and relationship goals and be able to enjoy them instead of dreading the process. There’s no need to kill yourself trying to be happy. Once you understand how to take care of yourself for real, and get a grasp on why you were torturing yourself to begin with, you’ll be able to actually live the life you want.

My Approach

I am passionate about working with clients who are stressed out, overworked, anxious or depressed, and lost in their life and relationships. I understand you’d like to find the quickest way to feel better so you can get back to your busy life and resume working on your life’s goals. I wish I had the magic wand that could get you there quickly, but I don’t. What I do have is the knowledge and patience to sit with you, provide you tools and ask you the hard questions, and hold up the mirror to help you look at yourself. I’ll push you to make you think and look at your life in a different way. You may not always like what I have to say, but I’ll always be honest with you and treat you with respect and kindness.

Qualifications/Education

I recently graduated from the University of Houston Clear Lake in Houston, Texas from the Professional Counseling program in August 2020. I was a counseling intern under Erika Labuzan-Lopez's supervision (LMFT-Supervisor No. 202082, LPC-Supervisor No. 71690) starting in August 2019, and enjoyed gaining experience in a private practice setting. I am excited to grow and explore as a fully licensed LPC (Lic. No. 85832). I have also interned at Resources for Crisis Counseling and received training to refine my skills in working with children and adults recovering from abusive situations. For the past several years, I have been employed as a case manager at Gulf Coast, which has helped me to hone my interpersonal skills in providing resources and support for clients with intellectual and emotional deficits.
